Colored connectors

January 21st, 2010

A correct connection pipe is made when:

  • The outlet of one component is connected to the inlet of another
  • A flow rate is established
  • The system is reasonably complete

Once complete:

  • Connectors automatically become colored.

Generally connectors follow the following rules:

  • A system is usually correct if pipes are a solid color (except for black)
  • Dashed pipe = incorrect
  • Black pipe = incorrect

Annotations

January 21st, 2010

Annotations are pieces of text used to describe components or display other information. Annotation font sizes may be adjusted by category under the menu format command. The following annotation types and categories may be inserted individually or on a mass basis:

  • Pipe – diameter, head loss, flow, identification, temperature, velocity
  • Project – name, location
  • Text – custom annotations that may be inserted as text on the workspace

Mass insertion of pipe annotations

To insert annotations on pipes and ducts on a mass basis, highlight a collection of components to be annotated, right-click somewhere on the selection, choose annotations, then choose the item to be annotated. Once the annotation dialog is active, annotation insertion controls may be customized. To display more than one annotation category on pipes or ducts, one of the line segment parameters must be changed.

Component ID annotation

The component ID annotation is the identification text given to each component. The component ID number may be changed by using the object order feature.

Text annotation

The text annotation is all user defined text inserted into a project.

Hello FloPro Designer World!

December 11th, 2009

This is the first post of many.  I hope they will be helpful to you in figuring out how FloPro Designer can play a positive role in your business ecosystem.

It is in difficult times like we are all experiencing, that new tools, innovative  ideas, emerging technologies and hard work can create new opportunities. I look forward to exploring  these with you.

I am a retired rugby player, my wife will not sign my permission slip any longer. Sticks and stones and tackles will break my bones but words will never hurt me.

I come from a family of plumbers. My father and two brothers are in the trenches every day.

My passion is Hydronics, cutting edge technologies such as FloPro Designer, web 2.0 collaboration applications, social networking, building communities, sustainable solutions and anything and everything to do with the Sun and Solar.

You can blame the latter on my mother who named me Ra, the Egyptian Sun God who my wife reminds me on a regular basis, I AM NOT. My kids keep me humble by calling me OG. I think its a term of endearment meaning “old guy.”
